At first glance, this scrap of a rainbow doesn’t
impress, unless you know that the rainfall total for the past 30 days is
only 0.17 inches! With an average annual precipitation rate of 8 inches in this
area, drought is pretty much the norm. Rainbows are so uncommon that even the
sighting of a snippet like this one is a special occasion!
