The thermometer read 90° this afternoon when we
took salt to the cows. Since it was so hot, I had thought that they would be
shaded up. Instead, many were lined up on the “beach”, an inside curve of the
canal where sediment has accumulated and is covered with just a few inches of
water.
Annabelle, my favorite cow, can be seen munching
hay in the right foreground. Hubby says that I’m her favorite too. She lets him
scratch her, but she only bestows her slobbery kisses upon me!
