Five years ago, son Zach planted an orchard in a
corner of a pasture. Since then I’ve irrigated, mulched, fertilized, and pruned
those apple, apricot, and pear trees—with only one measly apple to show for my
trouble. But, lo and behold, we now have blossoms! Not very many, mind you, but
definitely an enchanting sight. This fall, perhaps I'll be writing about the
apple pie I just baked!
